These
paintings mimic the values and hues of selected color photographs. Between
many layers of clear acrylic medium lie thin brush strokes of a carefully
mixed pallets of paint. These pictures chosen as subjects were ones collected
by me as a child. Whether adolescent fascination with technological weaponry,
the Loch Ness Monster or the Technicolor reproductions of the Holy Land
I escaped to in the back pages of pew Bible, these images held a formative
fascination for me. As an adult they became irresistible starting place
for my paintings. |
