These oil and polyurethane paintings on canvas are derived from photographs of maritime rescues and shipwrecks. This dramatic subject matter and heavily worked images flows from my interest in the romantic painter, Albert Pinkham Ryder and his evocative images of the sea. They are a reflection of the sense of mystery and awe I feel for the ocean and shore.
