Works On Paper early sources Texture Shipwreck
 
The paintings in this body of work have tactile surfaces. The acrylic medium is scored over with a pallet knife leaving furrows that run beneath each successive layer. This process creates an immediate material impression of the painting with subjects that seem imbedded in translucent space. Sources for this work were culled from late 19th and early 20th c. marine photographs.
